1919 - 2003
Jack C. Kessick, 84, husband, father, and loving grandfather, of Proctorville, OH went to be with the Lord on Friday November 21, 2003. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday November 24, 2003, at New Hope United Methodist Church by Rev. Greg Inboden. Jack will be taken to the church one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park Huntington, WV. He was born November 20, 1919, in Huntington, W.Va., son of the late Walter Kessick and Hazel Hughes Kessick. Jack was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, an avid sports participant, he loved and played semi-pro and industrial baseball and softball. He was a bowler for over sixty years and won many state and Huntington City championships in team and individual events. He was also a retired steel worker from HK Porter. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Kessick. Survivors include his wife Mary Niday Kessick of Proctorville; two daughters, Linda and husband Pierce Smith II, of Huntington, WV, Pamela Spencer and husband Jack of Deluth, GA; one son Jack Kessick Jr. and wife Karen, of Hudson, OH; six grandchildren, Carrie Ferguson and husband Chris, of Huntington, Rebecca Moralez of Virginia Beach, VA, Christopher Kessick of Chesapeake, VA, Jonathan Kessick and wife Kibble, of Muncie, IN, Kevin Spencer and wife Bethany, of Orlando, FL, Bradley Spencer of Deluth, GA; four great grandchildren; Adrianna Moralez, Brandon Ferguson, Lazaro Moralez, Brooke Ferguson, several nieces and nephews, a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Mildred Perry of Chesapeake, and a special friend Bob Vincent of Proctorville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday November 23, 2003, at Hall Funeral Home, 625 State Route 775, Proctorville, OH. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church Building Fund.

My sympathy to the family of this gentleman I never met. However, I have known his son as a member of ZBT, and I know that Jack, Jr., must reflect the spirit of his father. May God be with your family during this time of grief.

It is with a heavy heart that I received the news of Jack's passing. He was a friend from our childhood together and I loved him very much. Laura and I wish the family well and we can all take glory in the fact that he is going to a better place
