I loved my mother very much. She was not only my mother, but also my best friend. I'll be lossed without her in my life. I want to thank each and every one of you that knew her and called her a friend. You all mean so much to her. Besides my sister, me and her grandkids, the people at Shoneys were her life. She spend Mothers Day at the door to help and see her friends. She knew they would be busy and needed her help. I can only hope I can be the person that she was. So kind, loving and dedicated. God bless all of you for thinking so much of my Mother.

Sorry to hear about Boots, I know you are going to miss her alot. She was a very special person and was always smiling. I remember coming into the restaurant and her and your dad was so nice to us. I had seen her a few times at Shoney's and she was the same sweet person. I know she will be missed by all her family and friend.
Sorry I didn't get to come to her service.

We of the 21st street tail gate gang are very sadened at the loss of our special friend and buddy Boots. Many is the time that she has joined us on the corner beside Cpt. "D's" for chilli. And she was always ready to make a space for us in that special corner in Shoney's when the weather was not the best for tailgating. Over these many years my brother Carl and his wife Margaret, myself and my wife Margie always looked forward to seeing Boots wheather it was tail gate day or not. We will miss this special lady as will the other twenty to thirty 21st tailgaters. And I truly regret that we were and still are out of town and unable to be there for the memorial and service for our buddy ....Boots. Ray Browning

Tim, I didn't know your mom until I worked with you at the VA. I often spoke with her at Shoney's. She was a very nice lady and always spoke highly of you. I'm so glad that I got to know her if only for a while. She will be missed by all. My prayers go out to you and Dee.

Shoney's will never be the same. Boots always loved to tell Don when we would enter that he knew where to go-the booth behind the buffet bar. She was one of a kind, always looking out for her customers and showing the younger employees the "Right Stuff" it took to wait on customers. She will be missed greatly. Your mother was and will always be on of a kind-strong and loving. Please know that you are in our prayers.

To Marsha (Leroy), Tim (Dee), and the Grandchildren: Boots was a very loving mother and grandmother. Very proud of her family. She was also very special not only to me, but to her extended family at "Shoneys". She was not only a great teacher, but also a very good friend. She will be greatly missed. "May her soul rest in peace", and "May Gods perpetual light shine upon her" always. You will remain in my prayers, with love.

Dear Rucker Family
My sincerest sympathy in the passing of Boots. I remember her working at Shoney's for those so many years. It is never easy losing someone you love. Boots taught employees a great work ethic that has taken them towards greater experiences, including me.
My thoughts are with you all.
