Charles J. King, 86, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Tuesday April 16, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. He was born August 18, 1926 in Covington, KY. He was preceded in death by a daughter Karen McFarland; and daughter-in-law Pam King. He will be remembered by his wife Clare Schildkamp King; eight children, Charles (Carol) King, David (Cher) King, Mary (Bob) Wagner, Kevin (Sue) King, Pam King, Steve King, Greg (Maria) King, and Tim (Angie) King; 23 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother George (Penny) King; and one sister Susan (Ted) Caldwell. He retired from Super Value in Milton, WV. He was a WWII Navy veteran, member of Proctorville VFW Post #6878, and a lifetime member of the NRA. He was active in his church, and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a quick draw artist and known as the Silver Dollar Kid. A memorial funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday April 19, 2013 at St. Anns Catholic Church Chesapeake, Ohio by Father Charles Moran. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington or St. Anns Church. Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
