1940 - 2013
Paul David Fitzpatrick, 72, of South Point, Ohio passed away Wednesday May 1, 2013. The world has lost a great man, a simple man filled with pride and honesty. Dave was best known to be a hard working, tell it like it is, kind of man which immediately gained the respect of anyone in his presence. He had a great sense of humor and always knew how to handle any situation. He was always proud of his family name, Fitzpatrick, and because of him, that pride will forever live on and be cherished. Dave was a carpenter by trade, but dirt track racing was his passion. He also loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a horseman and a farmer, but most importantly, he was a survivor. Dave was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was the anchor of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Nellie Fitzpatrick; brothers William and Charles Fitzpatrick; sisters Helen Mae Stephenson and Jessie Johnson; and his beloved Scrappy dog. Dave left behind quite a clan, as he called it; his beloved wife of 55 years, Clara Jean Fitzpatrick; his children Paula Fitzpatrick Morris (Joe Bevans), Tammie Fitzpatrick, Davey Fitzpatrick (Jessie Spurlock), Dean Gully, and Kirby Fitzpatrick (Lisa); grandchildren Jamie Louden (Kevin), Robbi Johnson, Carlee Morris, Josh Force, Macie Frye, Jessica Poling, and Brayden Fitzpatrick; great grandchildren Mason and Dana Louden; brother Donald Fitzpatrick; his special friends and loved ones included Gary Hippie Estep, Bonnie Fitzpatrick, John Fitzpatrick, Earl and Scott Hutchison, Mickey and Jim Elmore, Geneva Poling, Jeffrey Stephenson, Dale and Donna Broughton, Mike Webb, Pete Morris, Larry Moore, and Kylah Blue; as well as many nieces and nephews; and his big baby, Grey Dog. He will be greatly missed, but has left a lasting impact on everyone in his life and will never be forgotten. The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

Clara,
I am so sorry to read of Dave's death. I was happy to read of the big family that you have now.
We can now think of Jim & Dave going hunting together again. My favorite memory of Dave and Jim was when they got peaches from, you know whose, orchard for us when we were pregnant.
Love & miss seeing you,
Connie

We have known the Fitzpatricks ever since school. Nellie raised a fine family. They were all decent and hard workers. The obituary is correct in every way. I am sure South Point has lost another one of their finest citizens. Love Fred and Gloria
