
Pauline Stewart Card Vanover, 96, of Proctorville, formerly of Liberty, Ky and was a long time resident of Yancey, Ky in Harlan Co. passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born July 12, 1916 in Alta, Fayette county, Alabama, the daughter of William Richard Stewart and Queen Esther Utley Stewart, She was a homemaker and much loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Ruth Bookout of Columbus, Ohio and Kathleen Williams of Jasper, Ala; two husbands, Thomas Jackson Jack Card, and Clarence Vanover; two sons, Benjamin Richard Sonny Card and James Edward Jim Card; and one daughter in law Anna Carol Card. She is survived by four of her six children, William E. Card of Tampa, Fla, Jacqueline Carol Card and Paula Sue Card Vance, both of Proctorville, Ohio, Charles Roy (Tina) Card of Richmond, Va and Bens wife Geri Card of Willow Grove, Pa., three stepsons, Nick (Jo)Vanover, Clarence (Sue) Vanover, Jr and Lawrence (Beverly) Vanover; eight grandchildren, and a number of great and great, great grandchildren. She has two very special great grandchildren, Benjamin and Ryan, who loved to talk with their great grandmother in Ohio. She also will be missed greatly by many nieces and nephews. We would like to thank St Marys Medical Center and Hospice House of Huntington for being so good to our mother. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Bill Adkins. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio.
