Herman E. Ransbottom (Gabby), of Huntington,passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at St. Marys Medical Center. He was born November 16, 1932 in Cabell County, West Virginia a son of the late John and Pluma Taylor Ransbottom. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US Army. He was preceded in death by two sisters Genevieve (Buck) Owens, Dorothy (Charles) Perdue, and one brother Kenneth (Dorothy) Ransbottom. Surviving are three daughters Cheryl (Bill) Sturgeon, Kathy (James) Ayers, Kelly Grant, two sons Greg (Sally) Ransbottom, Brian (Cindy) Ransbottom, 9 grandchildren and 12 Great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers John (Lorena) Ransbottom, Larry (Sam) Ransbottom, five sisters Frances Milligan, Ann (Eddie) Brunson, Janet (Robert )Tawney, Carolyn Sawyers, Donna (Dallas) Hammond, along with several nieces and nephews. There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to www.Timeformemory.com/Hall.

i did not know gabby very well i met him at the chesapeake flea market, he loved selling his glassware their i will miss seeing him their he was a very funny and nice man,i know his family will miss him

Dear gabby Ransbottom family I am the lat e Forrest Frankln (Frosty) wife Carrie Dean Franklin I remember how close Forrest and GAbby were when we were married He lloved the Ransbotom family almost as well as He loved me...I know by now the two of them are rejocing with Jesus In t heir home together where friends will never have to part for the last time..He expired Dec 23 2007 May God Bless and comfort you in your hour of sorrow Carrie Franklin

Sorry to hear about Herman, last time I talked to him he was upbeat about this and that. Will miss seeing him in our line of work that"Gabby" did very well.
