Garris Conrad  GibsonGarris Conrad “Connie” Gibson, 82 of Conway, SC went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family in Charleston, SC on May 10, 2024. Born on May 26, 1941 in West Hamlin, WV to the late Lovell and Verlia Gibson of Bowens Creek, WV. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Janice Ann Gibson (Sansom). He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Beverly “Jeannie” Gibson (Ward); son and daughter-in-law, Conrad Kevin and Deborah Gibson of Salt Rock, WV; two step-sons, Matthew Ward (Kennon) of Proctorville, OH and Jeffrey Ward of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Caleb Conrad Gibson (Jill) of Milton, WV; Maxwell, Samuel, Chloe, and Beau Ward; two great grandchildren, Kailyn and Elin Gibson; four sisters, Parshia Gibson Berry (Peachie) of Cullman, AL; Edra Gibson Clark of Barboursville, WV; Vonda Gibson Walker (Jackie) of Salt Rock, WV; Dawana Gibson Starcher of Fountain Inn, SC; and one brother, Mike Gibson (Louise) of Salt Rock, WV. He was a retired welder from McCorkle Machine Shop. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church growing up and attended Glory Way Baptist Church for many years. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar for many years in gospel groups with his siblings. He loved all things Marshall University athletics and was a longtime football and basketball season ticket holder. He also loved the LA Dodgers and stayed up late every night watching their games. He was a faithful follower of Jesus, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many who loved him. Graveside service will be 12 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with a celebration of life Thursday at 2 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.
