1931 - 2010
 HOLLIS GERALD KUHN, 79, lifelong resident and self-appointed "Mayor of Mud River," of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born Jan. 12, 1931, in Huntington, W.Va., son of the late Allison "Sharp" and Nancy (Watts) Kuhn. He was a retired Goodyear chemical lines operator. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Minerva Lodge No. 13 A.F. & A.M. Barboursville, W.Va. He was a caring, quiet man with a heart of gold, who will be missed by all those who ever came to know him. He leaves behind a loving wife of more than 22 years, Freda Annette; son, Gerald Kuhn, born to the late Marion (Clark) Kuhn, and wife Linda of Barboursville, W.Va.; grandson, Kevin Kuhn and wife Laura; great-grandsons, Colton and Jaxson of Coal Grove, Ohio; granddaughter, Jaime Kuhn; and great-granddaughter, Lynsey Belle of Barboursville, W.Va.; stepson, Bill Dutton and wife Pam of Barboursville; stepdaughter, Alesa Slepsky and husband Mark of Madison, Ohio; special stepdaughter, Annette Stiltner and husband David of Ona, W.Va.; along with their families and a host of friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Rev. Dr. John Richard Sauvage officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by the Minerva Lodge No. 13 A.F. & A.M. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org). Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/wallace.

Dear Freda,
This is Delores{white)Brewer.Lillies daughter.I want to say how sorry I am to hear about Papaw Hollis. He was such a wonderful person to know,our entire family loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.Please know that you and your entire family are in my prayers and all those who knew papaw Hollis will miss him dearly]=.. May God bless you all and take care of yourself because I know he would have wanted you to be taken care of.. Please let the other family members know how dear their dad and stepdad and grandpa was to our entire family.. RIP papaw Hollis..

Sam and I are so sorry for your loss. Hollis was a good man and neighbor. Won't be able to come to the services because we will be babysitting my 3 week old grandaughter. God bless you.
