Dorothy Jean Harper, 90, of Barboursville, passed away June 29, 2025. She was born August 12, 1934, in Lesage, WV, daughter of the late Harry P. Newman and Kathleen Adams Newman. She was also preceded in death by her husband William W. Harper, four sisters Wanda Boster, Joan Bowman, Nancy Young, and Brenda Starkey. She was a longtime member of Guyandotte United Methodist Church and was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter Connie Ramey (Scott) of Franklin, TN; one son Roger Harper (Teresa) of Barboursville, WV; one brother Ronald Newman (Claudette) of Huntington; two grandchildren Stephanie Vanover and Jared Harper; great grandchildren Caelan, Ryan, Ross, Crosby, and Camilla. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Dr. Tim Yates. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.
