1969 - 2026
James “Bob” Dingess, 56, of Ona, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2025. Funeral services will be conducted 5 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV. He was born on July 9, 1969, in Huntington, the son of the late Guy M. and Sandra Lou Dingess. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Nicole, a daughter Sydney Dingess, and one sister Kimberly Dingess. He also leaves behind his fur babies, Patrick and Theo, who brought a special joy to his life. Bob served as the Vice President of Business Development at Cenergy, LLC where he was driven and deeply committed to his work. His colleagues, both past and present, became like family to him. Bob was known for his quick wit, infectious laughter, and he truly never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and at ease. Weekends often found him camping at Shady Waters Campground or out on the water in his boat, which was where he felt most at home. While his wife and daughter were his greatest pride and joy, Bob’s lifelong passion was the water – especially boats. He delighted in his many “toys,” whether it was boats, campers, cars, or golf carts, and took great joy in every adventure they brought. His love of life, laughter, and the water will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Edwards Comprehensive Cancer Center for their exceptional care and kindness during this difficult journey. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.timeformemory.com/wallace

Bobby was a friend of our daughter Sarah from the 7th grade on, and a friend of my wife and me as well. Bobby did a great job for Huddleston Bolen and went on to other accomplishments thereafter. He truly never knew a stranger, and I always enjoyed seeing him. I was very glad he found success at everything he tried. I will miss him, and many others will as well. I'm sorry I will be out of town and not able to attend the funeral. Rest in peace, Bobby. Dick
