Mary Lou Bays, 86, of Rock Hill, SC, passed away on March 14, 2026 at her home. Mary was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Glada J. (Madden) Lucas of Hamlin, WV. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Outher Jay Bays of which she shared a long life of 59 years together. She is survived by two children, Sherry Neal of Rock Hill, SC and Donald Bays (Cathy) of Culloden, WV; three grandchildren, Christopher Neal (KaCee) of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Jessica Mann (Jason) of King, North Carolina, and Heather Jordan (Dustin) of Hurricane, West Virginia; as well as eight great-grandchildren, whom she loved so much. Mary retired from the Cabell County Board of Education. She retired as the Cafeteria Manager at Culloden Elementary School with over 30 years of dedicated service. Mary loved her job and the children she served.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026 at the Valley View Memorial Park Mausoleum, Hurricane. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
