William Lewis “Bill” Jackson, 85, of Ona, W.Va., passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 with his family by his side at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born November 4, 1940 in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Noah Hayes Jackson and Gladys Richmond Jackson. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Noah Jackson Jr. and Timothy Jackson and by a granddaughter, Brittany Jackson. Bill served in the US Air Force for four years and retired from CSX Railroad after 39 years of service as a Machinist in the Maintenance Division. He enjoyed hunting and was a fan of The Cincinnati Reds Baseball and Ohio State Football. He is survived by one son, William Michael Jackson of Versailles, KY; one sister and his care giver for the last five years, Margaret Crabtree of Ona; three grandchildren, Samantha Jackson Garcia (Billy), Summer Jackson and step grandson, Aaron Jackson and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Wallace Funeral Home, Milton is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, P.O. Box 464; Huntington, WV 25709. The family would like to extend special thanks to Stephanie Jeffers at Hospice House and Gaven Bender with St. Mary’s Pulmonary Department for extraordinary care and service.
