Virginia Ruth Midkiff, 86, of Branchland, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. She was born December 12, 1939 in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late, William and Malta Sowards. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Leslie "Rod" Midkiff; two sisters, Bobbie Hawkins and Peggy Butcher, and by two brothers, Bill Sowards and David Sowards. She is survived by her daughter, Robin Littell (Randy); son, Jeffrey Midkiff; sisters, Reba Gothard, Carol Fuller, and Pat Hesson (Gary); brother, Buckley Sowards; grandson, Robert Littell; sister-in-law, Eliza Sowards; and a host of other nieces, nephews and family. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville with Pastor Bill Spears officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.
