
Walter B. Wright Jr., 58, of Weirton, W.Va., formerly of Ashland and California, died Saturday, June 26, 2010, in the Veterans Administration Pittsburgh Healthcare System.
He was born Oct. 12, 1951, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Walter B. and Nandyna Walker Wright.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Misha Nadine Wright.
He was a real estate underwriting manager, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Ashland and a 1969 graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School. He was a self-taught musician, a member of Walter Wright & the Terrifics and was well known for his karaoke.
Surviving are a brother, Calvin S. (Phyllis) Wright of Cocoa, Fla.; sisters Deborah W. (David) Fish of Weirton and Virginia L. Martin of Ashland; eight nieces and nephews; four great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of loving family members and friends.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at New Hope Baptist Church in Ashland by the Rev. Henry L. Mosley.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
