Kim and sons,
What a wonderful time we shared with Neil during teaching careers at the old middle school!
He was one of the greatest story tellers in life not to mention
his talent and love of art. He will always be one of my finest treasures of friends.
He will be missed.

We Radleys had a bunch of favorite cousins to grow up with and they were mostly Allens. And Neil was one of them. Both families shared stay overs and we were all very close. Our cousins' mother was called "Aunt Sister" and she served like another mother when we ran and played. The boy cousins lived with our parents and worked summers in the Radley family business and "Aunt Sister" came to live after retiring from Silsbee ISD to work at Hardin Jefferson ISD.
Neil was one of my heroes when he was a combat pilot in Vietnam. I always enjoyed his flying stories.
Neil was a proud father, American and Marine. We offer our condolences to his wife, Kim and to Neil's extended family.

I had the HONOR to serve under his command in 68-69. I had the honor forty years later at the 2009 Old Tiger reunion to shake his hand and enjoy time to talk and remember. Please know that we feel the loss and will remember him always. Semper Fi Colonel

Kim and the extended Allen family, I'm so sorry to hear of Neil's passing. My prayers are with you. Neil and I talked helicopters last we met as that is what Vietnam pilots tend to do. I will miss him and the pilots who have gone before.
God bless his memory. Semper Fi!
