Walter L. Morgan Jr. 82 of Jasper died at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital Monday, June 1, 2009. Memorial service will be held on Sunday June 7, 2009 at his home located at # 18 County Road 358 off of F.M. 252 south of Jasper, TX. the family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. A native of Braggadochio, MO. He served his country during W.W. II as a SGT. in the U.S. Army,after the military he worked and retired as a LT. from the Centerville , IL. Police Department, after retiring he resided in Honduras for five years before moving to Jasper where he has lived for the past 12 years. Survivors include his wife Adela Morgan of Jasper, TX. Sons Richard Morgan of Fairview Heights, IL., Thomas morgan of Centerville, Il., Kevin Morgan of Fairview Heights, IL. and Andres Morgan of Jasper, TX. A brother James Morgan of Ofallan, MO. a sister Wanda Miller of Ann Arbor, MI. Three Grandchildren Joshua, Stephan, and Ashley. Condolences can be posted at the site listed www.forestoaksofjasper.com

To the entire family, but especially Thomas and Kevin,(my dearest friends,) Ashley and Josh (my surrogate niece and nephew), Stephan, Adela and Andreas...each of you are in my prayers now and always. I am both shocked and saddened to hear this unfortunate news. I knew Mr. (Walter) Morgan and his family all of my life since childhood and think of them as family. My fondest memories of him was when I got lost taking a detour home from grade school... he took me by the hand and showed me the way. I will never forget him. I am almost beyond words and only wish I'd known sooner. My heartfelt condelences are with all of you. Love, Kimmie

To the family of Mr.Morgan we send our prayers and we were saddned to here the news on the radio. We are neighbors of Mr.Morgans and he came over and visited on his scooter and my husband cleared trees for him after hurricane ike because we really thought alot of him and enjoyed him talking with us about his military career and his career as a police officer. God Bless you all and your in our prayers. Goodbye Mr.Morgan from Lil 'John-John, Patrick & Sherrie Devlin, Your neighbors across the road.
