Henry C. Pierce, Jr. was born May 27, 1923 in Huntington, West Virginia, the first child born to the late Henry, Sr. and Ursula Layne Pierce, He received his early education in the public schools of Huntington, graduating from Douglas High School. Henry was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. He was retired from International Nickel (now Special Metals) after many years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion. On Saturday, February 12, 2005 while a patient in Cabell-Huntington Hospital Henry was called from labor to reward.
He leaves to cherish his memory: Three sons, Michael Pierce, Robert Zachary and Christopher Pierce. One daughter, Teresa Kershaw. Several grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Sister Maude C. Walker and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be 11:00Am Friday, Febuary 18 at Callender Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6-8:ooPM Thursday, February 17 at the funeral home.
