Hazel B. Rhodes, 87, Bidwell, Ohio, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005,
at Arbors of Gallipolis. She was the former Owner/Operator of the Bidwell
Bait and Tackle and was a retired employee of the Gallipolis Developmental
Center.
She was born May 9, 1918, in Jackson County, WV., daughter of the late
Joseph Mint Doolittle and Jemiaha Ester Johnson Doolittle. Preceding her in
death were her husbands: William T. Simmons in 1937 and James Rhodes in
1963. Also preceding her in death was a brother: John W. Doolittle and two
sisters: Pearl L. Garnes and Janie O'Dell Randolph.
Mrs. Rhodes is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Bill and Barbara
Simmons, Bidwell, Ohio; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and
one sister:
Ruby May Taylor, St. Albans, WV.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM., Wednesday, in the McCoy-Moore
Funeral Home, Vinton. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
