Denver Keith Higley, 67, of Gallipolis, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2005 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born July 24, 1948, in Gay, WV, son of the late Carl Denver Higley and Flavia Marie Higley Price. He was a a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired master barber and auto mechanic. He was a member of the Vinton American Legion Post #161; D.A.V. Post 51, Meigs Co.; American Legion Post 27, Gallipoli; and he was a member of th Seventh Day Adventist, Jackson. In addition he had studied Law and Real Estate at La Salle University, Chicago, IL; attended the Gallipolis Business School, Knotts School of Auctioneering, Ohio Peace Officers Training School and the Ohio Law Enforcement Training School.
Denver married Betty Jo Osborne on August 12, 1961, at Danville, OH and she survives with a son, Timothy Keith (Christina) Higley, Crown City, OH; three grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Hall, Dylan Alexander Higley and Hannah Elizabeth Higley; three step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Erin Taylor, Andrew Christian Welch and Halie Delynn Welch, and a sister, Alma Sue Beaver, GA.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Benjamin Tyler Higley; a brother, Jerry Higley; a sister, Sally Estrada; and a step-brother, Larry Price.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor Bob Powell officiating, assisted by Malcomb Orbaugh. Burial will follow in the Brush Cemetery near Vinton with Military Grave Side Rites conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service Organizations.
