James Thomas Knight, 81, Bidwell, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005, in Holzer Medical Center. He retired from Winair of Dayton in 1987.
A U.S. WW II Navy Veteran, he was a member of the Grove City American Legion Post 0164; the VFW Post 4464, Gallipolis; and the Morgan Center Christian Holiness Church.
James was born December 20. 1923, in Charleston, WV, son of the late Kenna and Lura Mitchell Knight. He married June Smith on November 17, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, and she survives with three sons:
Bill Knight, Bidwell; Patrick (Ellen) Knight, Columbus, OH; Eric (Melissa) Knight, Dayton.
Six Grandchildren, Thirteen Great-grandchildren, three brothers and six sisters: Sonny Knight, San Antonio, TX; Jack Knight, Richmond, VA; Kenneth (Julie) Knight, Bidwell, OH; Maxine (John Kenneth) Russell; Noma Cable, Richmond, VA; Glenna Long, Bidwell, OH; Beckey Denney, Bidwell, OH; Tommy Sue Staton, Vinton, OH; Shirley Jo Saunders, Galena, OH.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Knight and two sisters: Rosemary Skidmore and Rosalee Russell.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Rev. Teddy Russell and Rev. Bob Manley officiating. Burial will be in the Morgan Center Cemetery with Flag Presentation to be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service Organizations. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Sunday, 3:00-5:00 PM.
