Alvin Joel Phillips Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1932 - 2006 Funeral services for Alvin Joel Phillips, 73, of Lumberton will be 10:00 am Friday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Phillips passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Alvin was a native of Kirbyville and a long time resident of this area. He retired from Gulf States Utilities after 42 years and was a Korean War veteran, proudly serving his country in the US Air Force. Preceding Mr. Phillips in death were his parents Leslie and Bonnie Phillips, brother Robert Phillips and sister Bonnie Sims. Survivors include his wife Dorothy King Phillips of Lumberton; sons Michael Phillips of Silsbee and Steven Phillips of China; daughters Deborah Phillips of Silsbee and Patti McKinney of Hideaway, TX; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
