HAVING OLDER FAMILY MEMBERS WAS ONE OF THE WAYS I KNEW KATIE BUT MY PERSONAL FRIENDSHIP WITH HER WAS WHEN SHE WORKED AT OATES CORNER STORE IN SILSBEE. SHE WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE KINDEST, FUNNIEST AND FRIENDLIEST PERSON THAT HAS EVER WORKED THERE. I LOVED TO GO THERE TO SEE HER, I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW SHE WAS SICK UNTIL I WENT IN ONE DAY AND SHE WASN'T THERE. KATIE IS A GREAT LOSS IN A LOT OF PEOPLES LIVES I AM SURE OF THAT AND I WILL MISS HER. MAY GOD BLESS HER FAMILY AT THIS TIME AS WE REMEMBER HER ALWAYS. GOD BLESS

To Miss Katy's family...I am truly sorry for such a great loss. I worked with her at Oates Grocery, and she was a super person. We had a lot of good laughs and had fun working together. I do know how much she loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She always talked to me about going to Bealls at Christmas time to get gift certificates for them..she was a proud grandmother. Also my children grew up knowing Miss Katy..My son is serving in the Army and everytime he came home on leave she always wanted him to come and see her and of course he did. He just came home on a leave from Iraq in December and she asked to see him and he went up to visit with her. I believed in my heart that she truly loved him and my daughter. We all loved her., she was such a loving person. I know this was a tragdy for your family and she will be greatly missed, but maybe God knew what was best for her and took her home to be with him. May God Bless You All. Just A note from a ex co worker..Peggy,James,BJ,Telisha Baird ...
