John French Cook went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2006 at the age of 87. He was born and lived his entire life on Cook Road in Silsbee, TX. He was a devoted father and husband and spent his time quietly loving and serving his family. He was greatly loved and respected by his family and those who knew him. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church.
John is survived by his loving wife Ola Belle; his children Patricia Bombolis, Effie Cook, Rufus Cook, Nancy Cook and their mother, Marie Williams and his stepchildren Cindy Henderson, Brenda Redd, Gary Holland, Kevin Holland and Roger Holland. John is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
John retired in 1984, having spent 36 years with ARCO Oil and Gas. His favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening and baseball.
Visitation will be from 5 – 9 pm Tuesday, April 4 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Knupple Cemetery.
