JAMES RONALD STANDLEE
James Standlee, 64, of Silsbee passed away at his residence on July 8, 2006 after a courageous 2 ½ year battle with cancer.
He was born on October 11, 1941 in Taft, Texas. He has resided in Silsbee for the past thirty-five years. James served his country in the United States Army from 1960 – 1963. Upon retirement from Southwestern Bell, James was employed by Driveshaft Specialties in Beaumont. Along with hunting and fishing he enjoyed spending time on E-Bay adding to his phenomenal Coca-Cola collection.
He is survived by his loving wife of over twenty eight years, June Standlee, of Silsbee; son Jeff Standlee, and wife Mary Ann of Three Rivers, son Brad Standlee, and wife Lisa of Sinton, son Mark Flanakin, and wife Donna of Silsbee, daughter Susie Martel, and husband Gary of Anahuac/Diboll; grandchildren Kelli and Kourtney Standlee of Three Rivers, David and Lindsey Standlee of Sinton, Sawyer and Cutler Flanakin of Silsbee, and Kendal and Kayla Martel of Anahuac/Diboll; sister Pat Ford and husband Jim of Taft; brother Kenneth Standlee and wife Michelle of Edgemont, Arkansas.
James is preceded in death by his parents George and Christina Campbell Standlee of Taft, Texas.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Farmer’s Funeral Home at 415 N. Fourth St. Silsbee, Texas with burial to follow at R.S. Farmer Cemetery also in Silsbee. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, in the chapel of Farmer’s Funeral Home 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
