GLEN ROSE DENNIS BENDY
Glen Rose Dennis Bendy, 94, passed away in Buna, Texas, September 29, 2006.
She was born in Carroll, Texas May 13, 1912, the youngest of nine children of E. B. and Lucy Dennis. Glen Rose married Cecil J. Bendy in 1934 and settled in Loeb (Lumberton), TX where she was a loving wife to Cecil for over forty-seven years, and devoted mother to their three children.
Glen was a founding member and active supporter of her beloved church, First Baptist Church of Loeb. She taught Sunday school for over fifty years, and was a mentor to many and lived a dedicated life of her strong Christian values. She was an avid fisherwoman, and loved the time spent at her beach home in Pt. Bolivar. In later years, she became known as the garage sale queen, and her greatest joy was sharing her special finds with her children and grandchildren.
Her generosity, the kind and supporting words, a hug and warm embrace will be remembered by all. Her comforting and selfless nature provided her children and grandchildren with a strong foundation, and will continue to influence their lives on a daily basis – with memories to hold forever. From her pioneer spirit she leaves her family and friends a legacy of self-discipline, rugged determination, and the best biscuits in Texas!
