MONNIE MARIE BAKER
On November 28, 2006 God sent an angel down to St. Elizabeth Hospital to pick a rose from his life garden. Now she is in a place where her radiance will never fade. She shared fifty seven years with her husband, Bronson Baker Jr. Together they reared two sons in Silsbee: Pete Baker and wife Nola, and Jim Baker and wife Vicki. These two sons and daughters-in-law gave them four grandchildren that did no wrong; Alayna VanDorn, Rodney Baker, Joushua Baker and Kimberly Baker. Then she helped perfect three great-grandchildren Madison Grace and Katie VanDorn and Makayla Baker.
No earthly possessions were greater than her family. She shared her talent as an excellent cook with all her children and grandchildren. Although her body is gone, her spirit will remain alive in us all.
Services will be Thursday, November 30, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church in Silsbee. Interment will follow at Cunningham Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.

Jr. I was so sorry to hear of Marie's passing, but I know that she is with our Lord this Christmas. I don't know if you remember me, but I am Marie's cousin Lee Yawn's daughter. Again you and your sons and grandchildren are in my prayers. Marie was a very special lady.

Dear Junior and Sons,
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Marie has traveled a long hard road, but she left this earth knowing that she had a family who was totally devoted to her. Abraham Lincoln said, "All I am, or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother." They inspire us to be our best selves, and love us unconditionally. May you be comforted by fond memories of your wife and mother and be thankful for the positive influence she had on your lives. God bless you all.
