James Alford Chance, 63, a resident of Fred, Tx. since 1952 went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2006 after suffering a massive stroke.
James is preceded in death by his parents James Daylon and Lula Belle Chance and several of his aunts and uncles.
James is survived by his loving wife of 9 years Theresa Rogers Chance; his mother-in-law Dorothy Rogers whom he loved like his own; three loving daughters Reba Shuman and husband Howard, Della Starke all of California and Sara Elrod and husband Dan of Nevada; step children Robert Hillhouse and wife Virginia of Warren, Jack Hillhouse and wife Jackie of Tennessee, Roger Lewis and wife Cheyenne of Baytown and Terina Fleetwood and husband Tim of Big Thicket Retreat; sisters Mary Teague and husband Doug of Randellett, Oklahoma, Daline Eason of Silsbee; brothers Freddy Chance and wife Co Co of Fred, Burl Chance and wife Juanita of Henderson Nevada and Lonnie Chance and wife Sandy of Silsbee; half brother Cleveland Bragg and wife Dorothy of Milam, Texas.
James was blessed with twenty one grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
James was blessed to have many people who loved him, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in laws, friends and his beloved Church family of the First Pentecostal Church of Fred where his service will be held on December 12, 2006 at 10:00 am to celebrate his life with interment following service at Fred Community Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Monday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Carl Eason, Billy Ray Eason, Gary Cross, Billy Ray Eason, Jr., Gib Boren, Freddy Dale Chance, Jr., James West and Robert Hillhouse.
