Funeral services for Juanita Williams, 80, of Vidor will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in Restlawn Memorial Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Williams died January 18, 2007 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.
Juanita was a native of Harrisburg, Arkansas and had lived in Vidor since 1964. She worked as a nurse and after retiring from nursing, worked for the US Post Office as a mail carrier in Vidor. Juanita was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Village Mills and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Vidor. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Edell Barlow, husband J. C. Williams and two sons, Murray Platt and Jim Platt. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Caraway of Silsbee and Janis Myers of Lumberton; sons, Dennis Platt of Kountze and Chris Williams and wife Melanie of Vidor; sisters, Jimmie Akers of Port Arthur and Laverne Kinard of Belle Chase, LA; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends.
