Mrs. Lena Burns Shoemake, age 93, of 293 Edna Rd., Buchanan passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Mrs. Shoemake was born in Haralson County on September 22, 1913. She was the daughter of the late Walter Burns and the late Lucy Jane Adams Burns. Mrs. Shoemake was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frazier Shoemake.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Rosie and Luther Mason of Buchanan; three grandchildren, Lisa Cox of Buchanan, Larry Mason of Buchanan and Danny Mason of Buchanan; six great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny Mason and Rev. Jim Cox officiating. Music will be rendered by The Gambill’s. Interment will follow in the Buchanan Church of God Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Larry Mason, Jay Mason, Richard Dewberry, Thomas Jeffers, Chris Cox and Chris Harden. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jacob Cox, Tyler Ivey and Triston Mson.
Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
