Milton Harold Madeley, Sr. was born on May 26, 1914 in Conroe, Texas. He was 92 years old at the time of his death in Jacksonville, Florida from respiratory distress. Mr. Madeley and his wife Ella had just celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on January 1, 2007. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1994 from Silsbee, Texas and lived there 12 years. Mr. Madeley was a former longtime resident of the Beaumont, Texas area. He worked throughout his life and retired from the oilfield in 1974. Mr. Madeley was a member of the South Jacksonville Church of Christ. He has a United States patent for a specialized wire line retrievable tool used in the oil industry.
Mr. Madeley is survived by his wife, Ella Mae, and their three children, son Milton Harold Madeley, Jr. of New Iberia, Louisiana and two daughters, Patricia M. Ashley of Cabot, Arkansas and Linda M. Cooper of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Larry Madeley of Sulphur, Louisiana, Tamera Simpson of Flagstaff, Arizona, Beth Babineaux of New Iberia, Louisiana, Sharon Woodson of Maumelle, Arkansas, Sherridon Dobbs of Grayson, Georgia, Shannon Wagner of Lutz, Florida, Christina Dressel of Green Cove Sprints, Florida and Laura Roberts of Lynchburg, Virginia and twenty six great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, H.V. Madeley of Woodville, Texas and W. F. Madeley of Conroe, Texas; sister Margie Conner of Lumberton, Texas and numerous nephews and nieces.
