Gravis Wilton Alexander Jr.Funeral services for Gravis Wilton Alexander, Jr., 66, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Sunday at First Baptist Church of Silsbee with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at Farmer Funeral Home.

Mr. Alexander died February 7, 2007 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A native of Long Beach, MS, Gravis was a longtime resident of Silsbee. Mr. Alexander graduated from Mississippi State in 1964. He worked as a forester for Kirby Lumber Co. for 21 years. Gravis then started Alexander Forest Service and also worked with real estate. Gravis was a deacon at First Baptist Church and was a member of the Gideon Society.

Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his father Gravis Wilton Alexander, Sr. and a grandson Blake Forest Alexander. Survivors include his wife Ann Grant Alexander of Silsbee; two sons, Gravis Wilton Alexander III and wife Starla of Silsbee and Joel Alexander and wife Bridget of Meridian, MS; mother Leona Alexander of Long Beach, MS; sisters, Carolyn Watkins and husband Charles of LaPlace, LA and Linda Ulland and husband Ray of Ocean Springs, MS and three grandchildren, Bree Alexander, Katelyn Alexander and Jarden Alexander.

Services will be conducted by Doctor Scott Moody, Reverend R. E. Barclay and Elder Jimmy Beech. Pallbearers will be Chuck Watkins, Raymond Ulland, Alton Hall, Chad McElvany, Johnny Robinson and Wes Moody.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Silsbee, 350 Hwy. 96 S, Silsbee TX 77656 or Hope Center for Crisis Pregnancy, 1155 IH 10 N, Beaumont, TX 77706.

Ann,Wilt,Joey and Family, Karl and I were so sadden to read about Gravis's death. Please know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Gravis was such a great person and everyone that knew him will surely miss him.
