What can I say about the Former First Lady of Kountze? She and her family arrived in SE Texas in the 1960s and immediately made their mark. Each of the kids redefined the word excellence. I attended school with Betty Ann and recall Mrs. White as a lady of high intelligence, quick whit, a keen sense of adventure and a never ending need to learn more about the big world out there. I know her loss is a great one for her family. Her passing went virtually unnoticed here in Hardin County but that I intend to remedy. Blessings and prayers to her family, her friends!

Mrs. White was our beloved French teacher at Hardin-Jefferson High School in the late 60's. In the summer of 2006, my family made its first trip to France. Mrs. White was in my mind often as we walked the streets of Paris. Each time I said "bonjour" or "merci," Mrs. White was there with me. She shall not be forgotten. My blessings to her family. Sincerely, Sharon Richard Sour Lake
