Funeral services for Glynn L. Nelson, 87, of Lumberton will be 10:00 am Wednesday at 1st Baptist Church in Loeb under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Tuesday at Farmer Funeral Home.
Mr. Nelson passed away Monday, February 12, 2007 at his home.
Glynn was born September 23, 1919 in Singer, Louisiana to Wade and Ludella Nelson. He has been a resident of Lumberton for 47 years. Glynn served in the Army during WWII and then worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1983. He served as a deacon and was a faithful member of First Baptist Loeb.
Glynn is survived by his wife Lorene Nelson of Lumberton; his children, Glynn E. Nelson and wife Trudie of Lumberton and Glenda Rice and husband Herb of Hemphill; brother Jesse Nelson of Singer, LA and sister Billie Perkins of Beeville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Josh Nelson, Autumn Nelson, Tina Jay, Kara Hyden and Holly Carrizales and eight great grandchildren.
