1916 - 2007

Nell Richardson, of Silsbee passed away during the morning of February 15, 2007, following a long courageous, yet graceful, battle with Alzheimer’s.

Nell was born April 16, 1916 in Tyler County to John Henry and Pearl Gotlibb Haab Baker. She lived many years in Jasper, Texas before moving to Silsbee, where she spent the remainder of her life. Nell was retired from Beall’s Department Store. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Silsbee and enjoyed her many years of fellowship with her Sunday School Class and the Ladies Sunshine Club.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Richardson. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Gayle Abbott and husband Robert of Kennewick, Washington and Rosalind Osborne and husband Larry of Silsbee; sisters Myrtle Read of Warren and Dollie Covey of Beaumont; grandchildren Tammy Sickels of Kennewick, Washington, Michael Abbott of Sacramento, California, Dana Oatis of Pasco, Washington, Christi Burris and Angela Osborne, both of Silsbee; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Heartfelt thanks are given to Mrs. Clara Powell and her family, Dr. Wilson, Hospice of Texas and the staff of Silsbee Convalescent Center.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with Dr. Scott Moody officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at Farmer Funeral home.
