Funeral services for Richard E. Hargraves, 86, of Silsbee will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Landrum Cemetery in Fannett. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hargraves died March 28, 2007 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Born in Fannett, Richard was a longtime Silsbee resident. He was a roustabout in the oilfield and an Army Air Force veteran of WW II.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Hollister Hargraves of Silsbee; sister Lena Smith of Houston and a host of nieces and nephews.

Maxine, I am so sorry that we could not attend Richard's funeral. My Mom had a stroke on March 14, and she is living with us, since then. I would have taken her to the cemetery if the weather had not gotten so bad, but she would have had trouble on her walker. We were real sorry to hear about Richard and we send our condolences to you. Aunt Maxine, So sorry we couldn't be with you at this time. We will remember you in our prayers each day. May the Lord give you comfort at this time. We know Uncle Richard is in heaven with our Heavenly Father and we will see him soon. Love to you, Carolyn, Wayne and family
