I am saddened to hear of Horace's death. Horace and I flew together at Ellington. Additionaly, Jim Hynes and I were helped considerably by Horace when we owned two Day Care Centers. Horace was always available to help us with the book keeping end of the business. I had a great deal of respect and affection for Horace. He was a good man, a good friend, a fine pilot and a good American. He served his country faithfully. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to all his family and friends.

America's Greatest Generation has lost another great one. I knew Horace as a fellow pilot in C-119s and C-130s at Ellington and treasured his friendship for over 40 years. His voice always was accompanied by a chuckle and a gleam in his eye like he was about to tell you something funny...and he usually did. He was a once in a lifetime friend and I will treasure his memory always. My sincerest sympathy to the family he loved.

I remember Col Stanley from the days when our unit was at Ellington AFB. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He loved his God, his family, and his country. We rejoice that he has now in heaven and has heard these glorious words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter now into the joy of the Lord."
