J. C. Busby Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1910 - 2007 Funeral services for J. C. Busby, 97, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Monday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Resthaven Cemetery. Mr. Busby died August 11, 2007 at Silsbee Convalescent Center. J. C. was a lifelong resident of Silsbee. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with the Hardin County Courthouse. Preceded in death by his son Kenneth Busby, Mr. Busby is survived by his wife Lavelle Busby; daughters Vada Fitzgerald of Evadale, Evelyn Roberts of Silsbee, Kay Caraway of Silsbee and Vicki Byrom of Buna; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Silsbee Volunteer Fire Department at P. O. Box 1155, Silsbee, Texas 77656.

Kay Lynn, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My father thought so much of J.C. as did most of the people in Silsbee....he was a fine man. I can still remember him bringing the firetruck to elemtary school and letting us climb all over it. You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.

I enjoyed chatting with Mr. Busby at the SCAT luncheons. He was a wealth of information and always had a smile and firm hand shake. He like so many who have gone before will be sorely missed!

J.C. will be remembered for his many years of public service. Volunteer fire departments everywhere depend on dedicated members who stand ready to answer the alarm. J.C. helped set the example that SVFD members follow to this day. Pat Richardson Secretary, SVFD 1977 - 1979
