Ruby Ramer Lange Odom, “Mimi”, was born January 31, 1930 in Spurger and died September 27, 2007 in San Antonio. After battling heart and kidney disease, diabetes and cancer, she decided that the time had come for her to be with her Lord and friends and family who went before her.
Ruby is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Cunningham Ramer, father Benjamin Ramer, brother Johnnie Ramer, sister Lucille Mills and beloved aunt Grace Cunningham. She is survived by her children, Sharon (Paul) Heinemeyer, Brenda (Bill) Nester and Debra Lange; grandchildren, Blake Nester, Bradi Nester, Jonathan Brehm and Conrad Heinemeyer; great grandson Gavin Nestor; brother Robert (Lillian) Ramer; sister Bonnie Stephens and childhood friend Delores Martin.
Special thanks go to Beth Castillo, Stephanie Shiley and Dr. Flavio Alvarez for caring for her in her years at Village Oaks Dialysis Clinic.
Ruby spread laughter and love to anyone she came in contact with. All who were lucky enough to know her knew they could count on her in times of need. She was loved because she loved.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 1, 2007 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Cunningham Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
