James Vernon ‘Doc’ Horn
Funeral services for James Vernon 'Doc' Horn, 89, of Lumberton will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment following in Leatherwood Cemetery in Lumberton. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Horn died October 23, 2007, at his residence in Lumberton.
A native of Mount Belvieu, Mr. Horn was a longtime resident of Lumberton. He was an operator with LNVA before retiring. Mr. Horn proudly served his country in the Army during WWII.
Preceded in death by his wife Blanche Horn, he is survived by sons Richard Ross of Dayton and Robert Keith Ross of Woodland, WA; daughters Janice Marquardt of Willis and Lynnette Elder of Highlands; sisters Ruth Brammer of Colmesneil, Johnnie Anena Harrington of Port Bolivar, Lee Ora Hauver of Beaumont, Eleanor Marsiglia of Lumberton and Yvonne Jordan of Silsbee; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Robert Henry Ross, Kurtiss Lee Elder and Paul Anton Goyke and nephews William Harrington, James Brammer II and Michael Vincent Marsiglia.
The seeds of love and generosity Doc sowed throughout his life will continue to bring forth fruit in every life he touched. He will be missed, and always loved.
