Funeral services for Willis Ray Parr, 64, of Silsbee will be 10:00 am Monday, October 29, 2007 at St. Mark's Catholic Church with interment following in R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. A Christian wake will be held at 6:00 pm Sunday evening at Farmer Funeral Home.
Mr. Parr died October 25, 2007 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Houston, Mr. Parr was a longtime resident of Silsbee. He was a retired motor mechanic from MeadWesvaco and was a Vietnam War veteran. Ray was involved with the Boy Scouts of America most of his life, a member of Knights of Columbus and was an active member of St. Marks Catholic Church. He was also a board member for North Hardin Water and a trustee for Pace International.
Survivors include his wife Lucy Parr of Silsbee; son Willis Parr, Jr. and wife Christy of Warren; daughter Vicki Parr of Silsbee; brothers Bob Parr of Silsbee, Herbert Parr of Rusk and Harold Parr of Buna; sisters Ila Mae Rankin of Lufkin and Margie Rasmussen of Silsbee; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
