Gene Tunney JordanFuneral Services of celebration for Gene Tunney Jordan, 75, of Silsbee will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 6, 2007 at First United Methodist Church of Silsbee. Interment will follow at R. S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will begin a 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Christopher Jordan Rash, Justin Thomas Jordan, William Devin Rash, Jack Dempsey Jordan, Jr., Robert J. Pittman, Jr., and Daniel D. Jordan.

Born January 22, 1932 in Saratoga, Texas to Lona Mae (Smith) and Miles D. Jordan, Sr., Mr. Jordan passed away peacefully on December 4, 2007, in the comfort of his home.

Gene was a longtime resident of Silsbee and a 1949 graduate of Silsbee High School. He proudly served his country in the United Sates Navy during the Korean Conflict. In 1957 he earned a B.S. degree from Lamar University. Gene then served as administrator of Silsbee Doctors Hospital for 19 years and taught school in Silsbee and Kountze ISD's.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gladys Rogers and brother Miles D, Jordan, Jr. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years Yvonne (Horn) Jordan of Silsbee, daughter Judy Rash and husband Gary of Nederland, sons, Gregory Jordan and wife Michelle of Deer Park, and Todd Jordan of Atascocita, grandchildren Jordan Rash, William Rash, Justin Jordan and Mallorie Jordan, twin brother Jack D. Jordan of Silsbee and wife Carol, sisters Zelma D. Bertram and husband O. H. (Buddy) of San Marcos, Iola (Tommie) Jennusa of Silsbee, sister-in-law Mary L. Jordan of Silsbee and numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Silsbee, 670 N 5th St, Silsbee, Texas 77656.
