Funeral services for Claude Cleveland Coward, 80, of Silsbee will be 2:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Farmer Funeral Home with interment following in R S Farmer Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Coward died December 27, 2007 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Woodville, Claude was a long time resident of Silsbee. He retired as Vice President of Dollinger Steel and proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. Mr. Coward was a former mayor of Silsbee and a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. He was also Chairman of the Board of Fire District #6.
Claude is preceded in death by his beloved wife Idell; parents Claude C. and Opal Hicks Coward and brother Glenn Coward. Survivors include his son Claude Wayne Coward and wife Fran of Silsbee; daughter Margie Hohensee of Silsbee; brothers Joel Coward of Silsbee and Roy Coward of Tyler; sister Maurine Hanks of Silsbee; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
