Millie  WillisMillie Willis

Millie Willis, 91, peacefully passed from this life into the next on March 7, 2008 in her home in Silsbee. Millie was born in Lutcher, LA on February 20, 1917.

She was a longtime resident of Silsbee since her childhood. She was a devoted homemaker and worked in the grocery business with her husband for several years. She later worked as a clerk for and retired from West-Gibson Dept. Store. She loved her Lord and was a faithful member of The Genesis Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert; parents Miles and Rita Bylsma; brothers Miles Jr., George and John and sisters Frances Bylsma and Hazel Ott. Millie is survived by; son Charles E. "Chuck" Willis and wife Coleta of Silsbee; sister Rita Barrett of Silsbee; grandsons Chip Willis and wife Melody of Clermont, FL, Jim Willis and wife Pam of Silsbee and David Willis of Silsbee; granddaughter Rita Garcia and husband Shawn of Silsbee; sisters-in-law Marie Bylsma and Edith Bylsma both of Silsbee; ten great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday March 9, 2008 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment to follow at Knupple Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Harbor Hospice or a charity of your choice.

To all the family of Grandma Willis. Bro. Chuck she was such a sweet person. At church on Sunday mornings always waited for that hug from her and the other little ladies that sat on that row.
