She looked forward to her sewing classes on Wednesday, taking cruises, and enjoyed taking trips to Raleigh, N.C. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Calvin Nida; three daughters, Kimberly Allyn Eastman and her husband Allen of Hurricane, W.Va., Jennifer Alyce Bradbury of Apex, N.C., and Rachel Ann Harmon and her husband Joseph of Lesage, W.Va.; one son, Brandon Don Nida of Berkeley, Calif.; five grandchildren, Constance Blaire Eastman, Allen Taylor Eastman, Allen Gabriel Eastman, Elsa Katherine Harmon and Alice Esta Harmon; one great-grandson, Elijah Dominick Eastman; and a new grandbaby of Rachel and Joseph, whom she was excited about the coming arrival. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, P.O. I have been gone from the Corps 9 years. Every month I hesitantly read the back page of the Castle Comments, hoping the condolence section is speaking of someone I had never heard of, or someone I didn't know very well. Of the nine years of reading that back page, my heart sank as I read the passing of Janet. She always had a smile and such a pleasant attitude, someone that we should all want to be like. I'm truly so hurt to know she is gone, and I truly hurt for you all. Take care.

Dear Calvin, Kim, Alyce, Rachel and Brandon: My heart breaks for your loss. Janet and I worked together at the Corps and our desks sat ten feet apart. She was such a wonderful woman who loved you so much. She talked about all of you often. She was always so attractive and dressed so nicely and was so funny. That's how I'll remember her always. I've thought of her many times over the years. My prayers will be with you.

I'm so sorry to hear of Janet's death. She and I worked together at the Corps for many years. Janet developed her cancer about a year after I did and we spent a lot of time talking about it and encouraging each other. Janet was a special friend to me and to my Mother (who she did ceramics with). Mother and Janet can now talk together in Heaven. I know she'll be missed. Our loss here is Heaven's gain. My prayers are with you and the family.

Dear Nida Family - God Bless You All. I met Janet at the votech school a few years ago and enjoyed our time together there very nmuch. We found that I had known her mother and her father and some of her earlier friends. She delighted us all with stories about her family and although I only know Kim and Rachael personally, I feel as if I know the rest of you. May God Bless you all during this time but know that she is up there in Heaven with her mother and father and she is telling them all about you here on earth.

I met Janet a few years ago at the vocational school where we both were in the sewing class. I liked her instantly and felt as if we had been friends forever. As it turned out, I had known her father and her mother and some of her earlier friends. I admired her so much for her love of life and love of her family. She was a very courageous and caring person. My prayers are with all the family . Although I only knew Kim and Rachel, I feel as if I know Alyce, Brandon and Calvin since she talked so much about all of you.

Dear Kim, Alyce, Rachel, and Brandon. I worked here at the Corps with your mother when she worked in Logistics and we remained friends when she moved to the radio room. I would always go up to the 7th floor and visit her and she always made me laugh. She was a wonderful person and I missed her alot when she retired. She always spoke of each of you and I can tell you she loved you very much..she was always giving me advice on raising my son. I don't know if I will be able to come to visitation but wanted you to know how much I cared for her. And I can only imagine how happy she is now to be with the Lord.
