1919 - 2008
Mrs. Hannah J. Petersen, widow of Clifford Petersen, age 88, formerly of Lakeview, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 29, 2008 surrounded by her family at her home in Greenville. She was born August 31, 1919 in Eureka Township, the daughter of Ernest and Fern (Phillips) Mills. She retired from Federal Mogul in Greenville. She was an active member of the Danish Sisterhood, the American Legion Post 101 Ladies Auxiliary, and the VFW Post 9969 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an accomplished athlete, and enjoyed golf, softball, and bowling. She is a member of the Bowlers Hall of Fame. Hannah was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Dianne Harnish; her grandson, Mark Petersen; and eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Mary (Jay) Ruthruff of Six Lakes, A. Joyce Westhouse (friend Ivan Hilton) of Cross, SC, Barbara Large of Greenville, Bonnie (Gordon) Wheeler of Choctaw, OK, Phillip Petersen of Stanton, Gary Petersen of Lakeview, David (Robin) Petersen of Six Lakes, and Kim (Teresa) Petersen of Greenville; her son-in-law, Paul Harnish of Cedar Springs; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with Chaplain Cheryl Lamport officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Michigan or to the American Cancer Society

Having been a neighbor of the "Crawfords" growing up, I remember spending many a Sunday afternoon at "Aunt Hannah's" house in Lakeview. We were always exhausted from playing when we left. It's is a great memory.

I always loved seeing and visiting with Hannah. Jerry & I loved her very much. I also golfed with her at Holland Lake Ladies league. She was a great lady. My condolences to all of you. Pat

We're deeply saddened to here about the loss of Aunt Hannah. She will be a major loss to the Petersen family.

I was very pleased to spend time last week with a wonderful woman who was a fighter until her time to join the lord. She will always have a special place in my heart. May God bless her soul and welcome her with open arms.
