 Robert Edmund Carey age 47 of Gowen died Monday July 21, 2008 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Greenville. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on January 24, 1961 the son of Ray and Flo Friberg Carey. He was employed for 29 years at Citation Co. Lowell, was active with Cub Scouts and enjoyed golf and hunting.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy Robert Carey and Shannon Danielle Carey, his parents Ray and Flo, brothers, Donald and Laura Carey of Greenville, Albert and Lora Carey of Belding and Dave Carey and Julie Winnie of Cedar Springs, his childrens mother, Stephanie Carey of Greenville, five nieces and one nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 26, 2008 at 1 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Coleman Moore of Oakwood CRC officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Mills Cemetery, Gowen. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given for his childrens education |

We are saddened to hear the loss of Bob Carey this past week. We feel for his children, friends & family. Bob was indeed active with Cub Scout Pack 3134, and my children and I participated in many events with him. You could tell that Bob was a caring father. Our condolences go out to all of those that knew him. He'll be missed.
