Stacey Darryl Arney

1963 - 2008

Stacey Darryl Arney, age 45, of Lumberton, died Saturday, August 16, 2008 at home after a lengthy battle with colon caner.

Stacey was born July 15, 1963, in Dallas and grew up in Gatesville, Texas. He was a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Corrections in Gatesville for 12 years. He then moved to Lumberton and worked at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Beaumont for 5 years.

He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Christy Carpenter Arney of Lumberton; children, Megan Arney and Colby Arney of Lumberton; his son, Garrett Arney and wife Mitzi of Lumberton; grandchild Cohen Arney; mother, Pat Arney of Gatesville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sonny and Martha Carpenter of Silsbee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kimberly and Lee Soileau of Lumberton; brother-in-law, Cody Carpenter of Florida; two nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Crestwood Baptist Church in Lumberton at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday at Crestwood Baptist Church in Lumberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Peterson Regional Medical Center, Intensive Care Unit, 551 Hill Country Drive, Kerrville, Texas 78028 in memory of Stacey Arney.

CIt hristy - it is so hard to lose your husband and my heart goes out to you and your children at this time. I miss working with you and I miss your smile and laugh. We had such good times I did not rad the paper until late this afternoon so I am very worry I was not at the funeral. Please call me when you can and just know I love you.

Christy, I worked with you and Stacey at the USP and camp. I loved working with ya'll. Stacey always kept me laughing when we where back in SHU. I'm really sorry for you and your family's loss. Really all of our loss, because I know that he left a mark on everyone that he met and he will be truly missed by all.
