Ruth Ann Briscoe Horn Click for Condolences      Printable Version
1911 - 2008

Ruth Ann Briscoe Horn Ruth Ann Briscoe Horn, a resident of Liberty, Texas for over fifty years, passed away August 17, 2008, two days prior to her 97th birthday. She had been living in her daughter's home for the last year of her life.

Ruth was born in Yale, Oklahoma. She was the last descendent of Henry and Hattie Hahn. Both parents and her daughter, Della May, predeceased her.

She is survived by daughters, Lois Hewell of Bellaire, Texas and Hester Bell and husband Milton of Beaumont, Texas; three grandchildren, Charles Hewell and wife Marti of Sugarland, Texas, Leslie Leone of Destin, Florida and Jason Leone of Beaumont, Texas and one great grandchild, Joshua Leone. Della May, her other daughter, predeceased her.

Ruth was a wonderful, kind and caring mother and grandmother. She inspired her family with her work ethic and her independence. She was always involved in her children and grandchildren's activities. Ruth lived a full rich life and was dearly loved by friends and family.

We want to thank Hospice of Texas for their special care and help with Ruth in her final months. Also, a big "thank you" to Audria Green, her caregiver, Hope Schroeder, Crystal Bell and all the other fine people from Hospice.

Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee will be handling the funeral arrangements. A private family graveside service will be held in Magnolia Springs, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to "Some Other Place" or Trinity United Methodist Church.
