Dear Hoover/Thompson family, I just received the news of Bill's passing (thanks Wayne for sending the email). I'm going to have a hard time getting through this last hour of work. Grandpa Hoover (as we called him), took me in and counted me as one of his own. From the time I went with the family for their Christmas at Disney, to 4-H fairs, to stopping and visiting whenever they would pass near where I was living (I remember them visiting me in Kentucky and Ohio), I could always count on a big smile followed by an even bigger hug. Bill would even bring treats for my dog! Know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could be there to share the joy of the life he lived. "Kimmy" Diehl, San Antonio, TX

Dear Hoover Family, I was so sad to hear of your loss. I was fortunate enough to have first met "Grandpa Hoover" at a party during Amy and Tim's engagement. I remember that first meeting with special fondness because he shared some incredible tales with many of us as we stood there both amazed by his vivacity and amused by his stories. Not only was Grandpa Hoover charming and witty, but he was also so genuinely happy to be a part of the festivities that I immediately developed a great admiration and respect for him. His joy was infectious, and I will always remember that about him. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Erin McHale Buffalo, NY
