Funeral services for Doris Juanita Anderson Walters 78, of Silsbee will be 10 a.m. Monday September 8, 2008 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with interment to follow at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Doris was the last of 9 children born to Jim and Evvie Anderson on November 26, 1929, and the last to die on August 30, 2008.

Doris married Norman Walters on Oct 7, 1944. She and Norman were married for 41 years when he went to heaven on July 19, 1985. On March 6, 1988 granddaughter Deborah Ann Smith joined her grandpa and on February 19, 1998 they were joined by the Walters son-in-law Weldon Forse Sr.

Doris began attending Woodrow Baptist Church in Silsbee as a child, which continued until she was called to Heaven. Doris was a role model through her church, home, school, family, and friends. She was never judgmental always listening, could turn a bad day into a good day, and could always put a smile on your face. Doris loved her Bible and her God. She also loved to cook, so you never left her home hungry. She was always a lady in every way.

Doris worked for 15 years at Silsbee High School as Assistant Manager of the cafeteria.

She was also preceded in death by brothers Bill Anderson, Glenn Anderson, and J. W. Anderson; sisters Annie Mae Wallace, Jo Brown, Ethel Karr, Jim Beth McCelland and Janey Mock. She is survived by daughters Norma Jean Walters Smith of Groveton, Linda Walters Forse of Silsbee, and Juanita Walters Hooks and husband J. L. of Willis; grandchildren Cynthia Diana Smith Gonzalez and husband Victor, Weldon Forse Jr. and Fiancé Brittany Atwood, Penny Carol Forse, Jeff Lamar Hooks and wife Melanie, Tammy Juanita Hooks Prince and husband Charles (Charlie Boy); great grandchildren Joseph Cordell Rapoza, Victor Rafael Samuel Gonzalez and Ramiro Xeviur Gonzalez, Kelsey Michelle Hooks, Cody Lamar Hooks, Kali Ann Marie Hooks, Reva Shay Juanita Prince and Alaney Shayree Tammy Prince; stepbrother Rusty Miller of Silsbee; a dear friend Sammy Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hooks, Weldon Forse, Jr., Charlie Boy Prince, Victor Gonzalez Cordell Rapoza and Cody Hooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rafael Gonzalez and Ramiro Gonzalez

She will be missed. I always thought she was a "true" Walters. I know the reunion with the other Walters' will be full. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die"

Aunt Doris lived a wonderful life and made a lot of people very happy. Although she will be missed. She is with Uncle Norman right now and you can bet, they are dancing on the streets of gold and rejoicing in the presence of God. There is a reason why I always called her "Aunt". One I will tell you about it. I loved the story as to why she was called "Bigfoot". She is with our Heavenly Father and has to be a good thing.
